Weekly Fan Shout Out #1
There are rumors floating around that Carl Edwards could leave Roush Fenway Racing, or re-sign. What is your opinion on where Carl will be in 2012? Roush Fenway Racing? Joe Gibbs Racing, Red Bull? Or Will he re-sign with RFR and keep his lasting relationship with Roush going? Post your comments below.
Carl is staying with RFR – period!! With the way things are running with Carl and RFR: if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Carl wants to be in a team to allow him to win championships – and hes got it packaged up and wrapped with a nice “blue oval” on top!
Hmm – let me see….. Stay where you are the “rock star” and have final say-so on crew chief and crew, or go somewhere else where the grass might be greener (or not)? This is a no-brainer. Carl is not leaving Jack Roush. No way Jose.
I agree with Lori and Peggy~Carl will stay with RFR….I truly can’t see Carl going to Redbull,as him being the healthnut he is,I can’t see him promoting a product, that isn’t good for your health. As for going to Gibbs,I truly don’t even want to think about that one. I don’t want HIM with those selfish a-holes. As Peggy has stated,I don’t think he could get an owner to give him “comple power” of his team. I do believe Mark Martin is finding out,”the grass isn’t greener on the other side”,and I Hope Carl stays on “RFR’s” side.
THE FR9 power (and its only going to get better as they continue to tweak the setup) would make anyone want to stay. If money is secondary to championships he’ll stay at RFR, but I can’t see the money being much better elsewhere anyway. All the other teams have their “big-money” drivers.
Carl isnt going anywhere!! Why leave a team when what he is looking for there. Carl wants to win championships. He is in a position right now to do that. The FR9 engine is strong. That is proven every week with the way the Roush team is finishing races. Look at the All Star weekend. The only thing RFR didnt win was the 600 and that is only because of Kahne running out of gas and taking Carl out. David Ragan finished 2nd to keep RFR up there.
Carl is silly not to see what else is out there, but in the end, he will re-sign with Jack!
I believe he is going to stay. More shocking things in sports have happened though, and I won’t breathe easy until he re-signs! I LOVE having Carl as my favorite driver and would just be heartbroken! if he went to a non-Ford team. I grew up in Livonia just outside Detroit and we just don’t like Toyota here. It seems to be hard for some people to understand in other parts of the country. I would feel like a traitor if I cheered for a Toyota. So sign with ROUSH CARL!!!! (I could even except having to wear Brown)
He’s probably going to stay at RFR – there’s no room for him at HMS (unless they dump Junior). Besides, he’s the best at RFR now.
Joe Gibbs Racing, either replacing Joey or as a new fourth team.
I’m with the majority…I think the only reason they haven’t already announced his contract is done is that he’s the biggest sponsor draw at RFR right now, and as many sponsors as they can draw in and contract to RFR through Carl, the better, for all the NW and Cup teams. It’s the business side of things. Plus, Carl is hugely loyal…doesn’t make him stupid, he’ll get what he deserves in the contract, but he’s not just out for money…but I just can’t see him driving for anyone but Jack.
Not happening. Carl’s just shopping around and Carl won’t be teammates with his most hated rival.
Its semi official and will be formally announced within the next three weeks. Carl’s a traitor and is signing with JGR. Some sponsorship details need to be worked out but only minor stuff.
Never liked Carl and his Mother but he is an American and drives an American car so I have warmed up to him lately. I can’t believe that he would give up his Patriotic reputation to become a Traitor and jump in a Jap Junk Car. If he does it will be another nail in the coffin for Nascar which no more represents “Americana” as the talking heads suggested Yesterday in the leadup to the Race. With many in our Country pushing “Buy American” lately Nascar is preaching just the opposite by allowing Toyota to control Nascar.
Well Carl is staying put.
