Daytona International Speedway
February 6, 2010

Carl Edwards will be running in his fourth career Budweiser Shootout this Saturday night on the high banks of Daytona.  His best came last year with a seventh place effort.
Scotts Back on board: The No. 99 Ford Fusion will be sporting the green and black colors of Scotts this Saturday night after the company was on the No. 60 Fords in the Nationwide Series for the last 3 seasons.  The team will be taking RK-622 to the track for the shootout, it is the back up car used at Daytona last year.  This will be the first of six events that the Scotts colors will be on the No. 99 Ford Fusion as the primary sponsor in 2010.  Carl Edwards ran the Scotts colors at Daytona in 2005 in the Gatorade Duels at Daytona.
Carl Edwards at Daytona: In 10 starts, Carl Edwards has completed 1619 of 1762 laps, leading 3 laps, while taking in 3 top-five finishes, and 3 top-ten efforts.  He has an average start of 17.2 and an average finish of 19.7, with two dnf's at the track.  He has $2,257,483 in money winnings at the track.
Carl and Kate Expecting: Robbie Reiser said he was making plans to have a backup driver on hand at Daytona these next couple weeks in case Kate Edwards goes into labor during the race.  The two are expecting to have their baby anytime during these next coming weeks.
Carl Edwards on the Budweiser Shootout: "The name says it all – the Shootout is a battle for glory. I’m excited about going there and kicking off the season with a fun race like that. Scotts will be on board so that’s a great way to kick off our new sponsorship program with them. They have meant a lot to my career and I’m proud to have them on the car. Our theme this year is to be the best we can be and I’m excited for our changes on pit road. The Shootout will be a good warm-up for them. The main goal for me in that race is to go out and have a blast and try to bring home a trophy."
Bob Osborne on the Budweiser Shootout: “The Shootout is a good test to help us prepare for the Duels and the 500. Generally the set-up is very close to what we run in both races, so it gives us a chance to see what we’ve got for the following week. It’s also a good warm-up for the pit crew. We’ve got three new guys (two tire changers and a jackman) going over the wall this year, so it gives everyone a chance to work together for the first time under race conditions. I’m looking forward to a fresh start this season.”
